I am a volunteer for Felines & Friends NM and am so impressed with how professionally this organization is run! The volunteers really care about each of the cats and they know each one's personality. Potential adopters are carefully screened and they ensure that the cat that is adopted to each person/family is the perfect fit! I highly recommend checking out Felines & Friends if you are looking to adopt a cat in New Mexico!

Three months into the pandemic, one of our four cats, Robert, made the decision to be the dominant cat of our household. He attempted to challenge our senior cat twice, & ended up injuring me in the process. We lived in a very small house at the time, & we knew this would continue to occur. Our hearts were completely broken when we realized that we would have to give him up. We searched for a place that would help us rehome Robert. We were extremely fortunate to find Felines & Friends at that time. A lot of tears were shed the day we left Robert at F & F, and we experienced loads of guilt, but after meeting the staff & seeing the facility, we knew he was in very competent hands. He was rehomed as an only cat, which we realized was the best environment for him. We will be forever grateful to Felines & Friends for giving Robert a second chance and finding the right home for him.

I’ve been volunteering for Felines and Friends for over a year now and it’s been one of the best experiences of my life. The people are wonderful and I’ve made so many good friends. The cats are very well cared for. I foster the most amazing 16 year old cat from Felines & Friends. His human passed away and the organization took him in then I met him and took him home. Their mission is righteous! A+ organization

Back in October of 2021 i adopted the sweetest girl possible from felines and friends! That sweet girl is my everything. I was told she can possibly be an FIP risk but that never stops her from being her great loving self. After adopting her i decided to help other cute felines look for their furever home❤️ Everyone is so motivated to help every cat in our care. Definitely an amazing group

I love Felines & Friends! I volunteer with them and enjoy spending time with the kitties. It's also rewarding to assist with adoptions. The cats are in a safe, clean, loving environment.

Santa Fe's Felines & Friends is a wonderful organization that I have had contacts with for several years now. Many years ago I lost a beloved rescue kitty I had had for about fifteen years. It took us a few years to feel able to love a new cat. When the time felt right, I looked on the computer at cats that needed homes. My heart was captured by a beautiful white and auburn male with sky blue eyes. I was told he would be at a certain pet store on a certain day. I was really dismayed when he wasn't there. The lady taking care of the cats found out which foster home had him and someone went to get him for me to meet. It was love at first head bump and purr. I wasn't able to just take him, however, there was quite a detailed form to fill out and references had to be given which they checked.

Last year I foolishly had him loose in the car with me while our realtor showed our house to prospective buyers. He got out and disappeared. I was heartbroken. We live way out of town with coyotes, snakes, owls, and an occasional bobcat. We didn't give up though. We searched every day and also at night. We even hired a man with a drone to fly it around and look. Felines & Friends was with us the whole time with advice, encouragement, and traps. After nineteen days out by himself, we got him in one of the several traps we were setting every night.

Anyone wanting to open their home to a cat should go to Felines & Friends. Also anyone willing to foster cats until permanent homes can be found or volunteer time or donations, should make Felines & Friends a priority.

Got my wonderful kitty, Sky, from Felines & Friends six years ago. I saw his picture on line and went to the pet store especially to see him. I was very disappointed because he wasn't there. I assumed he had been adopted, but when I was talking to the woman attendant, she said he was in his foster home. She made a few phone calls and next thing I knew someone showed up with him. It was love at first sight.

We have loved this darling blue-eyed boy every minute. In a careless moment he escaped from my car in July. I didn't realize it until much later when I got home. We were all devastated. My daughter even flew out here from California to help us search. We searched and searched--even hired a man with a drone to search. A wonderful lady associated with F & F named Mary helped us with cages and advice. My husband set the cages every evening and checked them every morning. After NINETEEN heartbroken days we found him! I am very grateful to F & F and have donated many items to their store.

Feline & Friends New Mexico is an all-around amazing organization. They do everything they can to help any and all cats who are in need of care.

I was caring for an outdoor cat that lived in a shed on the campus of a school. Misty was well-cared for but being a free roaming cat, she was always in danger of harm from outside elements and predators. One day I arrived at work to find that she was limping. I took her to the vet and they found that she had a broken elbow. The school could not help her so reached out to Feline & Friends.

Feline & Friends was able to pay for the very expensive surgery that she needed from a specialist (she had a bone chip removed from her foreleg and pins put in to reattach her tricep ligaments). Post-surgery, Misty lived in a loving foster home for her three months of recovery. She then went back to Feline & Friends, and within a month or so, she was adopted and is now living in a loving home.

Misty is a wonderful cat and thanks to Feline & Friends New Mexico, she is now able to live safely indoors with owners that adore her.

After working with Feline & Friends to get Misty the help she needed, I was so impressed and grateful for the work that they do, I became a volunteer.

This is a great organization that helps give many kitties a new home! I have gone to a few of their events, and everyone involved is caring and truly devoted to making a better life for many cats and kittens. Making donations to Felines and Friends is very important, and I encourage anyone who loves animals of any kind to give to this organization.

Felines and Friends truly is the last chance for many homeless kittens and cats of all ages. Their adoption plan generally includes a stay with a foster family to help calm them after their homeless experience, and also helps socialize them, making them more adoptable and adaptable than just a stay at a shelter. The organization is able to take some cats with medical issues, and find loving homes for them as well. F&F screens the future adopters to ensure that they will be a good fit with the cats, and provide a safe and caring home. Everyone involved is well-trained and a real cat lover, and many of the cats are adopted by the staff and volunteers. I've been a volunteer for three years, and cannot imagine life without the F&F cats I care for in my life. BTW we are always looking for additional foster homes to help the kitties make their transition to life with their new forever families!

When my husband and I moved to Santa Fe nine years ago, we adopted a cat through Felines & Friends. We were so impressed with the knowledgeable and compassionate volunteers who assisted us with our adoption that we wanted to become volunteers with the organization ourselves! We received comprehensive training to become caregivers and eventually adoption advisers at the adoption center. And over the years we've also had the very rewarding experience of being foster parents to over 75 different F&F cats and kittens, providing them with socialization and TLC during their journey to adoption into forever homes!

I've had cats my entire life and thought I knew everything there was to know about them, but the wealth of shared knowledge among our leaders of the F&F organization and from so many other volunteers has been invaluable. Any questions I've had about health or behavioral challenges, there's an incredible pool of go-to resources for information and assistance.

I've been volunteering with F&F for 3 years. I've been volunteering for animal rescues for years. F&F is well organized and does an awesome job of rescuing, caring for and finding good homes for their rescues.

Felines & Friends was my first choice for volunteering when I moved to Santa Fe in July 2016. I received quite an amount of training before I was able to volunteer for kitty care and adoptions. The staff and other volunteers are extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated to the mission. They make it a priority to ensure the cats in their care get paired with the right home, and assist adopters during the adjustment period. The staff, which is entirely volunteer-based, are so wonderful that I can't imagine my next cat coming from anywhere else!

What a wonderful organization and a wonderful group of people. The volunteers, staff and board at F&F care so much about the cats. I volunteered as a cat caregiver and received extensive training and support -- all designed to ensure the cats were safe, comfortable, happy and ready to join their new families. I ended up adopting two myself!
