Causes: Community Service Clubs
Mission: The organization provides opportunities, education and caring relationships to help lake county, co become a place where youth make healthy choices, families thrive and the community is united.
Programs: Family support - this program empowers parents to create a healthy environment for their children to prevent substance abuse, neglect and child abuse and to promote family leadership and advocacy. Full circle offers two nationally recognized parenting curriculums (dare to be you, active parenting) and the family leadership training institute as well as empowerment and support of acculturating mothers and children. This program served 76 parents and 29 children.
youth mentoring - the mentoring program matches one on one mentors and provides after school activities. These components work to build relationships that are fundamental in building healthy behaviors and attitudes of youth within the community. Activities include hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, swimming, sledding, ice-skating and fishing which teach valuable life skills. This program served 61 youth and provided 104 activities and 30 mentors and 5 volunteers.
high school program - this program provides engaging prevention and self esteem activities to high school students. The wreck (less) club includes activities to prevent drinking and driving and tobacco use. Latinos unidos includes activities that focus on skill and strength building. The saad program brings awareness to vehicle safety issues. This program served 92 youth in lake county and provided 283 after school activities and 322 in school class sessions.
outdoor leadership - this program is designed to meet the needs and interests of the 7th and 8th grade students in lake county and includes three clubs; outdoor leadership club, girls' club, and boys' club. Outdoor activities are structured to encourage positive choices and life skills and include team building, leadership, outdoor adventures skills, sports, games and community service. This program served 113 youth and included 123 activities. Expenses 89,171 restorative justice program - this program facilitates discipline conferences in lieu of suspension or expulsion. We served 17 cases this year which included reaching out to parents, teachers, community members and peers. Expenses 23,068 miscellaneous programs and support for all programs - subcontract to build a generation for health equity expenses 84,569
