A few years ago I realized Perham, MN had a museum totally dedicated to collecting Veterans oral histories. It is a beautiful museum with a fascinating "maize" where visitors can walk through and watch or listen to snippets from dozens of interviews, "Leaving home, going to war and coming back". One of the interviews is from a Bataan Death March survivor (who was lost at sea also), the story is mesmerizing and gives me chills just thinking about what this young man went through! I eventually had the privilege of interviewing several veterans along with a videographer. The goal is for those stories and nation-wide interviews to be placed on the internet and available to historians, teachers, students and families. I hope others will join me in supporting this worthwhile endeavor. Each story is powerful and unique, and once the veteran is gone, that story is lost forever.
