Mission: The organization supports the efforts of the nc department of agriculture and consumer services plant conservation program by 1) increasing public awareness and understanding of the plant conservation program; 2) encouraging the public to support and promote the work of the program; 3) providing support for program activities; and 4) soliciting and holding funds in support of program activities.
Programs: Grants 1) ginseng. A grant for growing woods-cultivated ginseng. Funds for ginseng seed; cameras and motion detectors installed. Project details and borrowing equipment available to other growers. $983. 00.

3)funds to ncpcp for preserve signage; water,refreshments, bug spray and gloves for volunteer work days; small tools for preserve management. $4938. 00
education results 1. Average of approximately 500 unique visitors to the website each week = 26,000 during 2017. 2. Newsletter produced quarterly for members and general public. People reached: 800 and website visitors. 3. A seminar on extinct plants was provided to 40 members and public. 4. A educational trip to ancient bald cypress on the black river - 45 members and public. Field trips/workdays 1. Fopc preserve tours- 9 total attendance - 138 2. Ncpcp workdays - 6 preserves volunteers - 58 3. Monitoring (rare plant counts) 4 preserves volunteers - 27. 4. Total volunteer hours for land management: 3,371 person hours across 14 preserves
