We are trying as a small group of concerned citizens to generate interest in the Old School House Museum in Dennisville. We've kept the museum going for the past ten years and now the exterior could use a little TLC, specifically a paint job and replacement of shutters.
The group meets the 2nd Thursday of the month at the museum and anyone interested is welcome.

Our little school house museum has quite a history. It started out as a two story school in 1874 and educated students in grades 1-8 for 75 years. A fire in 1948 destroyed the second floor of the building. So our school house embarked upon a new career...as the municipal offices for local government. The township outgrew the little school house and a new city hall was built just down the road, but that building still had something to give for the community. A group of local residents banded together and created a community history museum. Today, visitors from age eight to 80 regularly stop by to learn about the 300+ year history of their home town.
And this group, Friends of Dennis Township Old School House Museum, volunteer their time and talent to help make that possible.
