Causes: Environment, Parks & Playgrounds
Mission: To build and maintain a public park on the site known as francisco reservoir, a 4. 25 acre public open space in the russian hill area of san francisco. To provide a beautiful, tranquil green oasis in a densely built-up area that is short of parks and playgrounds.
Programs: On july 22,2014 the san francisco board of supervisors transferred the defunct francisco reservoir from the sfpuc to the recreation & park department to create a new public park for san francisco. Since then the francisco park conservancy was created and applied for and received tax exempt status. The board of the fpc have contracted with an architectural firm, a civil engineering firm and a landscape architectural firm to facilitate the creation of the park.
