Mission: The mission of the fox river study group is to bring together a diverse coalition of stakeholders to work together to preserve and/or enhance water quality in the fox river watershed.
Programs: The fox river study group is funding the fox river watershed investigation-stratton dam to the illinois river: fox river database update and analysis of water quality data and trends, 1998-2016. The university of illinois will update the fox river water quality database with all submitted and otherwise solicited water quality related data through 12/31/16. Analyze this updated database for temporal and spatial trends in nutrient-related water quality parameters over the period 1998 through 2016.
the fox river study group is funding a monitoring project conducted by the united states geological survey (usgs). For three summer seasons beginning in 2016, usgs will continuously measure do, ph, conductivity and temperature at the algonquin bike path bridge. This is a site where the group has not monitored before and the groups computer models indicate it is an area where low do levels may occur. The results will be used to recalibrate the groups computer models.
