Mission: The Food Depot strives to end hunger in Northern New Mexico. As a food bank, we collect and efficiently distribute food to affiliated agencies for further distribution to those in need. Its purpose is to provide emergency food to those hungry New Mexicans who are unable to provide adequate amounts of food for themselves and their children. The Food Depot accesses private and public sources to fight the ongoing battle against hunger and poverty. The food bank service area includes nine counties - Santa Fe, San Miguel, Rio Arriba, Taos, Mora, Colfax, Union, Harding, and Los Alamos. The Food Depot distributes food through 135 not-for-profit community agencies including emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, day care and senior citizen centers, a variety of youth programs, rehabilitation programs, and homeless and domestic violence shelters.
Results: The Food Depot provided enough food for nearly 5 million meals to partner non-profit food programs in 2012.
