Mission: The mission of the association is to provide educational information and promote activities and policies to preserve and protect florida's 825 miles of sandy beaches, to repair the 411 miles of critically-eroding beaches, and enhance public beach access and marine turtle habitat.
Programs: The 2016 annual meeting/conference for 202 members purpose is to discuss florida's beach management efforts, conservation practices, and beach nourishment projects. The general business meeting of the organization is also conducted and is open to all members in attendance.
national education program on beach preservation technology - annual attendance for 2016 was 193 persons including various federal, state, and local governmental agencies, design professionals, and a number of specialized interests and concerned citizens who have an interest in preserving beaches and addressing their critical erosion with various engineered and natural solutions.
governmental membership services - informational dissemination services include a monthly newsletter, governmental updates and alerts in an effort to keep governmental, as well as, general members well-informed. Directories of authorities and contacts on beach issues are made available to the public on an updated basis. State and federal legislative, administrative, and policy initiatives, changes, and information and testimony are provided by staff and members in various forums upon request. Public hearing notices are continually monitored, and such formal hearings are frequently attended.
