Programs: Our membership includes over 300 members in our FTMI San Francisco Lou Sullivan Chapter, providing 148 support meetings in 2006 serving bay area FTMs and their families. We have been holding support and information meetings in San Francisco since December 1986. FTMI chapters in other cities provide educational activities, support meetings, information, networking and referral services. We have been publishing our quarterly newsletter since September 1987, and also publish the FTMI Yellow Pages resource directory, the FTMI CD The Story of a Trans Man and the Men of FTM International Calendar. We have provided hundreds of educational presentations, panels, workshops in the Bay Area, California, other US cities and cities around the world and have been featured in numerous documentaries on television, film and radio as well as major magazines and newspapers. and provide extensive public education on the transgender community. Our website is one of the most widely referenced sources on the transgender community on the internet and is cited regularly in scholarly papers and professional journal articles and is continuously updated. We have sponsored ground-breaking research in the transgender community such as Assessing the Needs of Female-to-Male Transgendered People of Color and their Partners (2004) and served as the community sponsor of the Transgender Law Center and numerous publications in the field of transgender law and civil rights. We continue to innovate important new publications and research on an ongoing basis.
