Mission: Farmworker justice fund, inc. Is a non-profit corporation established under the laws of the district of columbia. Its mission is to empower migrant and seasonal farmworkers to improve their wages, working conditions, occupational safety, health, immigration status, and access to justice through litigation, advocacy, public awareness, capacity building, coalition building, and support for union organizing.
Programs: Health projects: farmworker justice worked to prevent illness and injury in migrant farmworker communities by training health personnel on meeting the special needs of migrant workers, helping farmworker groups establish hiv/aids prevention programs, sponsoring pesticide safety trainings, bringing the public's attention to solutions to dangerous working conditions, advocating in congress and government agencies for stronger occupational safety protections, filing lawsuits against government agencies that violate their legal obligations, and assisting attorneys representing injured workers.
immigration and labor projects: policy monitoring, analysis, advocacy, education, media relations, training, coalition-building and litigation. Specifically, the organization analyzed all major policy developments regarding immigration related to farmworkers, disseminated that analysis, helped organizations understand government processes and devised policy positions, and advocated for farmworkers in administrative agencies and congress. It closely monitored guestworker programs, contingent worker arrangements, international labor rights, and labor law developments. It engaged in litigation on behalf of workers to require the u. S. Government to enforce laws properly and against employers that do not abide by existing labor protections.

pesticides: fj worked to prevent pesticide exposure in farmworker communities by training farmworkers and farmworker organizations about pesticide safety; providing information about research and policy developments related to pesticides to migrant healthcare providers and other farmworker advocates; advocating in congress and government agencies for stronger worker protections; filing lawsuits against government agencies that violate their legal obligations; and assisting attorneys representing injured workers.
