Mission: Family support center of new jersey provides information and resources available to family members who are caring for someone with disabilities, special needs or rare diseases. The center is a clearinghouse of up-to-date information on a national, state and local family support programs, services and disabilities. The center offers a "one-stop-shopping" approach to individuals seeking information on disabilities and services by providing them with easy access to a comprehensive array of services.
Programs: Assistive technology and home and vehicle modification: assists families through the process of obtaining and paying for assistive devices, home-environmental modifications or vehicle modifications. These devices help people live independently in their homes and allow them to navigate in their communities, modification include; adding a ramp to a home, modifying a bathroom, or installing a lift to a van.
information and referral: the family support center provides reliable and up to date sources of information, referrals and advocacy services at the state as well as national level.
