Causes: Homeless & Housing, Temporary Housing
Mission: Family promise of charlotte endeavors to move homeless families off of the streets and back into private housing. Using the proven model of the national family promise network, we provide temporary housing, counseling, assisted job search, utility and housing deposits and coordination with other agencies for homeless aid or aid to the poor.
Programs: Family promise of charlotte using the proven model of the national family promise network, provides temporary housing, counseling, assisted job search, utility and housing deposits and coordination with other agencies for homeless aid and aid to the poor. Families go through a selection process to focus our aid on families with the best chance for success. Chronic homelessness, drug or alcohol addictions are beyond the scope of our program. During 2010 family promise of charlotte assisted approximately 103 households providing temporary housing in local churches, child care and transportation aid. Receiving such aid allows client families to concentrate on finding permanent jobs and affordable housing. Their effort is monitored by our staff to ensure that the client is doing everything that he/she can to take advantage of our temporary assistance. Additionally, 1,001 individuals received telephone referral assistance.
