Programs: Mental health, wellness and addiction services: these programs include outpatient mental health, bi-lingual clinical services, wellness house, outpatient substance abuse programs, and alcohol and drug abuse prevention. The programs help to enhance personal and family coping skills, insight, motivation and independence through the provision of individual health and family counseling for all ages. The outpatient substance abuse program, helps adults cope with recovery and rebuild their lives through making better choices. Our alcohol and drug abuse prevention coalition employs environmental strategies to reduce and prevent underage drinking and drug abuse, including prescription drug abuse.
department of children and families - family support and reunification: giving families the tools and the support they deserve so that they can stay together to bond and thrive. These family support programs include reunity houses which provide therapeutic, supervised visitation and support services throughout essex, passaic, morris and sussex counties. The homesafe program: supportive housing, counseling and care management in essex, passaic, and hudson counties, for families in which parents have a history of co-occuring substance abuse and mental illness. The strong mothers and strong fathers programs: gender-specific intensive outpatient (iop) substance abuse treatment enhanced with parenting and life skills training. Family counseling is a large part of the programs to foster a strong family unit. Many of these programs offer intensive, holistic, home-based counseling and support services that gives the children of these families a sense of safety, stability and self worth.
there are multiple programs at family connections supported through the department of children and families (dcf). School-based youth programs: on-site mental health counseling, life skills training, prevention programming, academic & employment support, after-school enrichment & recreation in collaboration with school staff and community partners. Also includes at risk youth programs: helping each youth to see their own strengths and believe in their power to take a better path and make better choices in their life. Otary program (out-reach to at-risk youths) provides youth based counseling for pregnancy prevention, violence prevention and gang involvement prevention. Program service acomplishments: counseling, school-based youth services: meeting children and teens in their own environment, which provides a safe and restful place to share challenges and learn effective coping strategies. The program delivers mental health counseling, life skills training, prevention programming, recreational activites, academic support and employment support, the locations of the program is at the space-orange high school, the loft-columbia high school, the hub-maplewood middle school and the den-bloomfield high.

Early childhood development programs: startstrong - a 5-day-a-week therapeutic nursery serving children age 2 -8 years old and their families with creative arts therapies, family support, andtransportation. Clean&cool - a comprehensive, evidence-based program of substance abuse treatment and life skills training for high-risk teenagers. Senior programs: seniorconnections and caregiverconnections provide in-home and near-home counseling, advocacy, education and care management for seniors and senior caregivers. Take control of your health delivers evidence-based classes to improve the health and wellbeing of older adults living with chronic conditions. Foster healing: evidence-based truama-informed treatment for foster children and their caregivers.
