Mission: F.A.C.E.S. NW began in 1998 when six families came together in a grass roots effort to discuss the serious need for continued summer educational support for children with autism in Whatcom County. This group began the first summer school program targeted for children with autism that specifically addressed and supported the needs and unique learning styles of children with autism. Each child works one on one with a trained instructional aid for optimal skill development in academics, recreation and social skills.
