Mission: The mission of the family resource center is to provide education and support services to families in rome/floyd county in order to strengthen the parenting and life skills of the parents and to prevent child abuse and neglect within these families.
Programs: Parent aide, home based intervention - trained parent aides work in the homes of high risk families and teach nurturing and non-abusive parenting through the use of modeling, literature, dvds, and other educational materials. Parent aides also assist parents in addressing additional situations and factors which place the children at risk of abuse and neglect. This program is tailored for the specific needs of the clients.
divorcing parent seminar - four hour education seminar designed for parents who have experienced or are currently experiencing divorce. This program assists parents with helping their children cope with the short and long term effects of divorce.
