I love this mission! I'm in a unique position, as someone who is not staff and is not a member, to see the impact that this organization has on everyone that it touches. Elevation House is more than a place, and it's more than a mission. It's a family. It is crafted together by people from different walks of life, with different backgrounds, blending their worlds together. When you walk in the doors, the hierarchy that one may expect to see is non existent. It is a friendship. Everyone greets everyone with the warmest welcome, everyone is genuinely invested in the well-being of the others there and everyone feels like family. Any opportunity to pop into the clubhouse is a highlight, for not only me, but my young children who have developed such a heart for servitude just by being in the presence of this mission. My oldest daughter says that Elevation House is her favorite house. I've loved every moment of working along side these members for volunteer projects. They're so giving of their time, skills and talents, and I'm so thankful that they've taken me in as a friend. In 4 short months, this organization has impacted the lives of everyone that it has encountered.

As a member of Elevation House and as someone who believes recovery is possible for people who live with mental illness, I wholeheartedly recommend Elevation House. Elevation house offers a holistic approach toward mental wellness. It recognizes the importance of social and economic opportunities for people who often live with an unfair stigma that often, and unfairly, gets in the way of those opportunities.

The International Clubhouse Model, on which our clubhouse is based, works toward ending economic isolation by providing a safe environment where people can explore new skills and talents during what we call a "work ordered" day. It also aims to provide employment opportunities in the community by partnering with employers in a structured way that gives members the best opportunity to succeed in the workplace.

In addition to employment, Elevation House works torward another area all people need - access to dignified and affordable housing.

Elevation House is aware that the educations of those who have lived with the disruption mental illness can cause often have a desire to continue their educations.

Lastly, but most definitely not least, Elevation House recognizes that physical health and wellness has a direct and positive effect on mental and emotional wellbeing. So the clubhouse strives to teach healthy eating and exercise habits to its members. In some cases, there are scholarships available for free fitness memberships.

Elevation House is the first organization that has a goal to improve the overall wellness of a recovering individual through employment, housing, education, and wellness. Many claim to offer the same accommodations, but this is the first time I've experienced it firsthand.

I believe in the clubhouse model and look forward to all the amazing work Elevation House will continue doing.
