Mission: Excelsior youth center strives to connect youth to their futures. We serve a broad base of youth and families with the primary aim of identifying goals and making positive steps towards accomplishing them. In our community we are advocates for youth and hold fast to the belief that children and families have the potential to be safer, stronger, and more satisfied in the lives they lead. Excelsior youth center provides comprehensive services to meet the holistic needs of those we serve. Our staff seeks formal and informal educational opportunities to develop skill sets that enhance the relationships we build with clients. We establish a professional environment marked by collaboration, respect, and unity. We are in the processes of continued self-evaluation and self-improvement. We cherish the privilege that we have been given to assist those in the search of better lives.
Programs: Excelsior's comprehensive transition service (17-21), lifepoint provided 2,380 resident days of care during 2017. This program provides hospital diversion from acute institutional care for youth who lack support system resources, and struggle with homelessness, mental illness, substance use and physical health difficulties. This program utilizes an intensive wraparound approach to deliver support services from areas needed to establish health and confidence to live independently.
excelsior's behavior rehabilitative service program (10-17) provided 14,473 resident days of care provided during 2017. Excelsior provides the state's most intensive level of care for child welfare. These children and adolescents age 10-18 have a history of chronic and significant traumatizing experiences (adverse childhood experiences-aces) and often an absence of any familial support system resources. These youth receive holistic, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care. Lengths of stay range from brief intervention to long-term psychiatric residential care. All residential services are integrated with onsite primary medical and education services
excelsior's wrap around intensive service program (wise), provides mental health, care coordination, peer support and therapeutic recreation services to mediciad eligible youth and families in their home and in community settings.
