Mission: Eureka college, affiliated with the christian church (disciples of christ), exists to cultivate excellence in learning, service, and leadership through the mutual development of intellect and character to enable graduates to lead meaningful lives and have successful careers.
Programs: Eureka students take courses in the college's five academic divisions: education, fine and performing arts, humanities, science and mathematics, and social science and business. The eureka community is one that demands of its members involvement and interaction through such activities as music, theatre, student government, and athletics. At the center of the eureka experience is the development of values that will help its graduates contribute to society in roles of leadership and service. The goals of the eureka college curriculum are published in the eureka college catalog. The college understands that the true purpose of education is to realize the potential of the whole person. Accordingly, our goals, abbreviated below, are to foster the development of:-the intellect-commmunication skills-aesthetic and cultural awareness-an understanding of the natural environment-physical fitness, alertness, and vitality-competence in at least one academic or professional field-greater social awareness-greater sense of personal responsibility-personal values-ways to use knowledge in leadership and servicein 2016-17, the college saw strong new student enrollment (251), with a total enrollment of 672 students. The college also reports a 13:1 student-faculty ratio, a 1. 6:1 faculty-to-major ratio, and a 2. 94 gpa on a 4. 0 scale for all students.
