Mission: The ethan lindberg foundation, on a charitable basis, will offer practical and financial support to families, advocate for them to collaborate and innovate together with their medical team to create health and joy-filled futures for their children with congenital heart disease. To further the ethan lindberg foundations purpose, the ethan lindberg foundation shall pursue the following initiatives: 1. Creating patient family housing for long term admissions; 2. Offering family grants to offset the financial burden of traveling for cardiac care; 3. Supporting and growing the work of the boston childrens hospital bi- ventricle repair group; 4. Creating individual care plans for children to improve communication and continuity of care; 5. Establishing and operating a music therapy program to bring joy and healing to children with congenital heart defects; and 6. Any other charitable purpose as the board of directors of the ethan lindberg foundation determines will charitably offer practical
Programs: Housing: pratical family support provides long term housing to families receiving cardiac care who have frequent and long term hospital stays at boston children's hospital. In fiscal 2017 the foundation had two one bedroom apartments near the hosptial which housed 10 families. Typical stays at the apartment were 30 days, but families may stay longer if their child is critically ill.
family grants: pratical family support provides family grants to families for cardiac care with frequent and long term hospital stays at boston children's hospital. In fiscal 2017 41 families received family grants.
mothers' retreat: the foundation provides a mothers retreat for mothers whose children have died from congenital heart disease or other chronic illness. In 2017, 40 mothers attended the restoring a mother's heart retreat.
