Mission: The epilepsy foundation of western wisconsin is dedicated to leading the fight to stop seizures and sudep, finding a cure, and overcoming the challenges created by epilepsy through efforts including education, advocacy, and research to accelerate new ideas into therapies.
Programs: The foundation is always looking for ways to benefit our clients. Development and grants are used to develop new programs and to enhance existing programs.
our client services program strives to resolve some of the challenges associated with epilepsy. Information, referrals, support, advocacy and other case management services provide individuals with the tools needed to make informed decisions on treatment options and other decisions related to their epilepsy. The foundation also teaches skills in coping and accepting the disorder by providing support not only from the foundation but also from peers. Advocacy assists clients to learn their rights with regard to their disability. Case management also assists in providing services to the person as a whole instead of just the disorder.
our community education program provides epilepsy specific information to employers, schools, caregivers, and professionals. Community education programs offer in-service training to teachers, police, emts, businesses, school medical professionals, and to the community. We also offer workplace education seminars to assist employers in their understanding of epilepsy and employees with seizure disorders.
