Nonprofit Overview
Mission: To meet the needs of individuals whose lives are affected by epilepsy.
Programs: The epilepsy association of the big bend provides service throughout a 14-county area. The services include sponsoring medical care, emergency medicine, and case management. Epilepsy association received 114,247 in donated services. 312 clients were served; 598 medical services were provided; 74 emergency medications were purchased; 3,823 case management contacts with clients; an additional 605 contacts were made to non-clients to provide information and possible referrals to appropriate services
we offer free presentations regarding recognition, first aid, treatment, and prevention of seizures to all age groups. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible to increase both awareness and understanding of seizures and epilepsy. 45 presentations were given to 697 attendees; 1,196 informational pamphlets were distributed. Eabb held 21 support groups and attended 14 special events.
