Causes: Microfinance, Small Business Development
Mission: The entrepreneur alliance vision is for a city and region where no business opportunity goes unrealized for lack of communication, understanding, or effort. Often, because of inadequate information processes, worthy companies miss opportunities to receive available assistance. Economic development agencies likewise miss the opportunity to provide their services to full effect. The activities of the alliance will be driven by the goal of making every possible match between service providers and local businesses. Our economic development organizations will act in a coordinated effort, offering a comprehensive range of services. That coordination, instead of a random offering of services, will maximize local economic development.
Programs: The exempt purpose during 2009-2010 was advancing the entrepreneurship discipline and educating target audiences of the general public of the 26 northernmost counties of the texas panhandle. The organization produced three networking events for entrepreneurs, a business bootcamp, a technology commercialization seminar, sponsored two educational events, one for youth and one for adults. All events combined attracted over 340 aspiring or existing regional entrepreneurs. The organization continued to execute a comprehensive marketing campaign and was able to attract and serve more than 570 entrepreneurs, facilitate the launch of 21 businesses, create 52 jobs and form over 2 million in capital in the regional economy.
