facilitate the jackson area college and career connection early/middle college program which partners with local colleges, businesses, and high schools to provide tuition and materials for jackson county high school students to get a head start on their college and career experience. The enterprise group was instrumental in securing a grant from the john george foundation to place three career counselors at the college and career access center. This multi-year grant will focus on staff working with high school students to identify career choices that do not require four year college degrees. The counselors will assist students with career identification, career training, internships, summer employment, and available positions in the jackson county area.
