Mission: ECEE, a nonprofit consortium of five of the nation s leading advocates of energy efficiency, was formed in 1994 to promote the global use of energy efficiency products and services, in partnership with US companies and state officials, by increasing the awareness of their economic and environmental benefits. To support the global implementation of energy efficiency products and services, ECEE: conducts focused trade mission seminars; identifies financing options; conducts market assessments; and shares US experience regarding successful regulatory, voluntary, and demand side management programs through state- and federal-level peer exchanges.
Programs: ECEE's operating programs involve: partnering US companies directly with pre-screened foreign buyers and in-country professionals through focused trade mission seminars; identifying financing options for energy efficiency deals and educating financiers on structuring such financing; conducting market assessments that identify the most promising technologies and sectors in the developing world; providing networking venues for foreign and US policy officials and decisionmakers; sharing US experience regarding successful regulatory, voluntary, and demand side management programs through state- and federal-level peer exchanges; strengthening the global energy efficiency industry; and disseminating the Opportunity Flash, a monthly compilation of export opportunity leads. ECEE also maintains a website (http://www.ecee.org) which contains a calendar of energy efficiency events, past and current Opportunity Flashes, market assessments and financing resource guides, and links to the global efficiency community (including US efficiency manufacturers and ESCOs).
