Mission: embrace northern colorado mission will create opportunities for regional collaboration by bringing the Northern Colorado community together to deal effectively with growth related challenges while preserving Northern Colorado’s high quality of life for future generations
Results: Board of Directors - Seated a balanced Board of Directors. The Board is balanced between Weld and Larimer counties as well as by interest – possesses members with a variety of interests including agriculture, conservation, business, government, healthcare, utilities, technology, education, community development, and finance Cutting-Edge Original Research - Completed social networking research to identify future regional leaders. Identified approximately 800+ leaders who are peer-qualified as collaborative, innovative, representative of the region as a whole, are able to get things done and who work well with others. Completed Northern Colorado’s first Community Values Survey of 1,302 respondents. Regional Databases - People – Nearly 2,000 people from a variety of backgrounds across the region are participating in varying degrees. Hundreds of interviews have and continue to be held with key local and regional stakeholders. Data – Information continues to be compiled at a regional scale to help inform both process and decision makers. Leadership Task Force - Seated a 100+ person Leadership Task Force who explored regional and community values, quality of life issues in Northern Colorado and trends affecting both citizens and communities including: population growth, water, transportation, education, conservation, economic development, land consumption and demography. We’re focused on the future of our region. Regional Conference - Held an initial conference on the future of the region (January 2011) that: 1) highlighted the growth trends likely to affect Northern Colorado, 2) had 85 regional workshop stakeholders examine issues affecting collaboration in the region 3) brought nationally recognized experts on growth to Northern Colorado to share successes in Louisiana and Utah and 4) hosted a public event that drew 400 participants from across the region. A Strong Foundation - Completed administrative work and built relationships that form a strong foundation for the future of the organization including: establishing a legal framework (501(c)3), audited financials, hiring an executive director, securing legal, accounting and professional support teams, completing a successful startup campaign, ensuring that Embrace Northern Colorado
Programs: Embrace colorado is focused on accomplishing three goals: 1) identify a common regional framework (vision) for the future, 2) assist northern colorado's leadership and citizens to create a collaborative environment where people with diverse views can work together on important issues, and 3) find innovative solutions to the many challenges facing northern colorado and take the necessary actions to implement those solutions consistent with an agreed upon vision for the future.
