Mission: East Community Resource Center advances a strong community by ensuring easy access to affordable resources for low income families and individuals in the Kelley Park neighborhood of San Jose, CA. The Center owns and manages a facility dedicated to housing an array of independently-operated social services organizations under one roof, and adds value to services provided at the Center through strategic resource enhancements.
Programs: HEALTH CARE For those with health care needs, the Center offers a primary care medical clinic with low cost consultations; drop in care, and preventive health classes. Opening in January 2004. Operated by O'Connor Hospital. LEGAL SERVICES For those in need of legal advice, the Center offers consultations, workshops and representation in employment, immigration, consumer and small business law. Operated by East San Jose Community Law Center. EMERGENCY SERVICES For those with emergency needs, the Center offers assistance and case management to help with housing, utilities, food, transportation and household goods. Operated by St. Vincent de Paul of Santa Clara County. EMPLOYMENT For those seeking employment, the Center offers a variety of services, including Training: Training in vocational nursing. Possible future training in other medical careers such as emergency medical technical, home health aide, certified nurses assistant and dialysis technician. Operated by St. Francis Career College - San Jose. Dayworker Program: Links laborers with employers in need of landscaping, painting, construction, and other work. Temporary and permanent employment options. Operated by St. Vincent de Paul of Santa Clara County. Thrift Store For those in need of furniture and clothing, the Center houses a thrift store with quality goods at low prices. Operated by St. Vincent de Paul of Santa Clara County. INFORMATION AND REFERRAL The Center is available to assist people in accessing services both onsite and in the broader community. Referral Services are provided in Spanish and English. Print resources will soon be available in Spanish, English and Vietnamese. Operated by East Community Resource Center. COMMUNITY EDUCATION The Center offers a range of community education opportunities for neighbors to learn about a variety of issues of community interest. Operated by East Community Resource Center.
