Causes: Human Service Organizations, Human Services
Mission: The gfwc dunwoody woman's club has six departs of work in the area of arts, conservation, education, home life, international affairs and public issues. We also support talulah falls school, located in north georgia. The objective is to foster and support our community through these programs funded from our home tour and card part.
Programs: Conservation and arts programs objective is to educate our members and others about the importance of community beautification and preserving our natural resources. We strive to support the art activities in our communities. We support summer camps, local gardens, provide speakers at monthly meetings, tours of art exhibits, local theaters, libraries, poetry contest, club newsletters, books and art supplies to local schools.
education and home life programs are designed to address literacy among adults and youth and programs to support local retirement planning and providing support for medical programs. We support the ronald mcdonald house, camp sunshine, interfaith outreach home, local assistance leagues, salvation army, toys for tots, march of dimes. We assist local schools with reading programs.
international outreach and public issues programs are designed to educate members and others about the needs of the world and the importance of being an active citizen. Programs include, operation smile, uso, global health organizations, memorial day and fourth of july parades and honor programs. We support the atlanta history center, women's resource center to end domestic violence, safe kids of georgia, unicef, international refugee community and many others.
talulah falls school programs, disaster relief funds, awards for students and endowment funds. We support the state and district gfwc organizations with a per member donation yearly.
