I found Duncans Place A Cat Sanctuary about two or three years ago when me and my family saw a three legged cat posted on Facebook. When we went to meet the cat the experience was wonderful. We had all the time we needed to interact with the cat. Had a great time meeting Cathy and when we decided to adopt the cat we could see the love and hard work that Cathy puts into rescuing these animals. We happily left with a fur baby, a new friend and all the supplies we needed to bring home our kitty. And since then I have adopted two more cats myself and my mom also added a little fur baby to her home.
My baby kitty Ray Ray died on September 6th of 2016. I was devastated. My husband and I got her shortly after we got married and being new in this country, Ray was my best friend. She had a feisty personality but she loved us.
My husband and our adopted niece were ready about 8 months ago to have a new kitty. I was not... and then, I found Duncan's Place. The history behind how this cat sanctuary was started to honor Duncan the cat and their labor filled my heart and it made me think that if I rescued one of their kittens, maybe I would be honoring Ray as well.
I contacted them and Cathy completely understood where I was coming from. She told me about these black kitties they had up for adoption and she told me about the harsh reality of black kitties; only 3 out of 10 get adopted just because of their fur color.
We decided to not let those kittens be another statistic. We ended up adopting 2 black sisters, we named them Maggie and Rosie (aka Margarita and Rosalinda, but only when they are bad kitties!)
Every day I still miss Ray Ray, but when I see those two running on top of my husband as soon as he falls asleep, they certainly put a smile on my face!
Duncan's Place made this possible by rescuing kittens, spaying/neutering them, micro-chipping them and giving them all their vaccinations, all the love and care they had not known before.
We will continue telling everyone about Duncan's Place and their amazing mission... and hopefully, adopting another kitten from them (this time, one just for me!)
Duncan's place helped me find homes for 10 kittens, and they helped me with shots for my cats and and medical treatment, they are truly a kittens guardian angel. They also helped me with food for my momma cat and all of her sweet kittens. I will always be grateful for Duncan's Place a Cat Sanctuary for all of the help that they provide!!!!
Their love of animals is undeniable. I have volunteered with them and they will anything and everything to help the animals.
So many kitties saved, fed, fostered, and homed! Affordable shots and vaccinations brought right in to the community! Thankful for this great organization!
I adopted my cats through this nonprofit. They were very well taken care of and vetted before I brought them home. I cannot express how grateful I am to Cathy for providing me with two great cats and for all the hard work and love she puts into saving lives!
This group has helped me and my fur babies in more ways than I could’ve ever imagined. I have seen so many lives changed by this group and it is just an amazing thing to witness.
A true animal loving group. Although dedicated to cats Cathy will go out or her way to help both cats and dogs. Helping the needy with cat and/or dog food and creating vaccination clinics with truly affordable vaccines this woman and her group are true animal lovers. When one of our feral kittens was hurt with a broken tail and an injured leg Duncan's Place took him in, got him the help he needed and found him the perfect home.
MY son and his friend /coworker rescued haystack kittens; the mother cat was found dead...They contacted this GRAND organization - and Duncan's took the kittens in the evening hours . thank you Duncan's. .heroes
Duncan's Place puts caring people in touch with purring kitties. What better match can there be? There are so many cats that need homes, and DP helps them get a head start on that permanent placement.
Duncan's Place, A Cat Sanctuary is small with a big heart! We make sure all of our adopted kitties are healthy before adopting out. We have a pet food bank for families in temp need of assistance. We also have a "Spay mommy" program that, as funds allow, we take in kittens from public surrender, take care of all of their vet needs before adopting out & also spay the mommy for the family to stop the cycle of continually having kittens. We welcome questions or assist in behavioral needs of anyone who needs help. We survive by awesome volunteers & much needed monetary donations to keep up our good work.
