Causes: Job Training
Mission: San jose streets team strives to end homelessness by restoring the dignity and rebuilding the lives of unhoused men and women by serving the community through work teams that prepare members for permanent employment and housing.
Programs: San jose streets team was founded in july 2013 in collaboration with san jose councilmember sam liccardo, the united states environmental protection agency, the san jose environmental services department, destination: home, the ebay foundation, and the santa clara valley water district. Clients, referred to as team members, volunteer up to 20 hours per week on one of our teams, cleaning-up target neighborhoods and creeks in san jose in exchange for basic needs stipends. All team members have access to a case manager and employment specialist to work towards obtaining permanent employment and housing. Weekly success team meetings are held every wednesday at 12:30pm at grace community center in san jose.
