Programs: Adult medicine: each year dhh serves over 21,300 patients in dorchester. The vast majority of those patients are seen in the adult medicine department for primary care. From there, patients can be referred for a wide variety of in-house specialty care, social service case management, and wellness programming. Our full battery of services includes: primary care, adult medicine, pediatrics, family medicine, & women's health, dental care, eye care, full-service pharmacy, behavioral health, full laboratory and testing, phlebotomy, lab services, x-ray, ultrasound, mammography, specialty care, dermatology, nutrition, cardiology, ob/gyn, physical therapy, clinical case management, diabetes, obesity, hiv, asthma, pre-natal, substance abuse, domestic violence, support, early intervention, access to public benefits such as food and housing assistance, legal assistance, school-based health services, out-of-school time programming, adult education, tax and credit counseling, food pantry, swimming pool & gymnasium programming, elder services & exercise programs.
pharmacy: offers full pharmacy services during normal operations to our patients. The pharmacy fills over 187,000 prescriptions a year.
oral health: each year dhh logs over 12,000 patient visits in its oral health department. Dhh has expanded its capacity in oral health to include prevention, and restorative and oral surgery. Dhh has added a dental suite in pediatrics for preventative visits for children. It is staffed full time. We predict that we will see 3,000 more preventitive visits because of this new position.
