DC Empowering Children is in it's 20th+ year in servicing the community and it's members. Despite the pandemic and the fluid changes that had to be made because of it; DC Empowering Children has still been hard at work! I can't speak to the amazing things that have been and are coming from this organization! I've been a member for years and I have been able to watch the movie pieces grow and get better. I hope you will join us and get better with us as well. As a non profit organization, we depend on citizens like you to spread the word and donate to our cause! Thank you to all who participate, share our story, and support us in other ways! We greatly appreciate it!

I am new to DC Empowering Children but my short exposure to the program and services that can be provided has been overwhelming. Dr. Chambers is the head of the non-profit and has all of the tools to help people get on track, to help them feel good about themselves and want them to live life. She is an incredible person and I know she strives to do everything that she can for her community. Thank you Dr. Chambers for all that you do!

My name is Cheryl Turner, and I've known Debbie Chambers since I was a little one. I could go on about the amazing person she is, but her present being is self explanatory. I had talked with Ms. Chambers about a few problem I was having, stemming from childhood and into adulthood. By the time our conversation was over, I felt relaxed. I felt that things would be okay. She let me know that everything that happened to me was not my fault, and that I did nothing wrong. She told me that my trauma is real, but it is not who I am today. It never was. It's something that happened to me, but I'm stronger than what happened. Debbie's words were said to me over 6 years ago, and I still remember what she said to me and how safe she made me feel. I will never forget it. I constantly tell myself, "You are stronger than your past". Those are Debbie's words. I know I am a stronger person because of her. Thank you, Debbie Chambers. You are truly a hero. ❤️

Real talk, not programmed responses, but real talk for those in need. I have seen people go from victim to being self empowered. The personal growth I have witnessed in people from the first conference in 1998 to the present day is astounding. This valuable agency provides free resources and has remained open during the COVID-19 Pandemic. 100% of all donations go to Empowering Children and Adults again that is 100% of all donations. Believe in Doctor Deborah Chambers because she believes in you.

There is noone on this earth more passionate about saving our children from the perils of abuse than DC Empowerment's leader Ms. Debbie Chambers. For as long as I have known her, Ms. Chambers has been blazing a trail to bring healing and empowerment to those who are broken and need to know they are valued and safe.

DC Empowering Children, Inc. Is the type of organization our society needs to thrive in such perilous times. We all know that child abuse is usually hidden from the public and the victims continue to be victimized unless they receive strong unwavering support. That is why we need DC Empowering Children more than ever. Our future depends on it!

My car was parked on Melville Ave and got hit and run with real bad damage. Even my insurance would cover to fix with a small deductible, I am still very upset that the person who hit it was not honest and irresponsible by hit and run. While I was hopeless to catch the hit and run person as there is no surveillance camera around, a person who is a member of this non profit show up to tell me what she saw and willing to be the witness. I left her name anonymous since I don’t want the person she identified get her trouble. When the police officer made the report, he told me that i should let him know if I have any info regarding the hit and run. However, I think I would give the person who hit and run a chance by leaving a note that asking him to contact me before I report him to the police.

Thank you very much to the member of this organization. Please accept my small donation to your organization as my appreciation.

When I was young (13), I was molested by my father, an attempted rape that hurt and confused me for most of my adult life. When I attended my first of Deborah Chambers' conferences, I was amazed at the work she was attempting to do, for me and everyone in attendance. Deborah's conferences helped us draw a circle of safety and inclusion around ourselves and get on with our lives, knowing that we had the support of Deborah Chambers and others as a foundation.
The conferences helped to break through that sense of shame that we can carry when someone has violated you. There was help for everyone, and lots of love in the room.
The conferences educated people, helping them to feel more empowered, with a greater sense of self and purpose.
The conferences offered healing testimonials that helped if you felt you were alone.
At the end of the conference, everyone seemed to be happy that they were able to
touch or address what they needed, and we all looked forward to the next one.

An African proverb reminds us that "Rivers are filled one drop at a time." Codman Square Health Center is putting in much more than its share of drops to address the inequities, public health challenges and achievement gaps that plague too many of our Black and Brown communities. They are providing comprehensive primary care, behavioral health, substance use, and so many other services to neighborhoods with higher morbidity and mortality rates, further exacerbated by COVID-19. They, quite frankly, save lives, and are as much (s)heroes as the first responders and hospital workers, and have been on the front lines of keeping our children healthy with care, timely immunizations and a competitive education with high academic rigor and social supports. They are treating and training the next generation of leaders! Thank you Codman Square Health Center!

First let me start with stating that the Founder, Debbie Chambers is speaking from experience and is invested in reaching those who can benefit from her service. She is transparent in her communication and outreaches to all audiences with an emphasis on children. She opens up her presentations and forums to everyone. Her care and support for those experiencing these behaviors from other is remarkable. The program educates and provides resources to others in need so that they can overcome their fears. The time that she dedicates to speaking in her forums whether it be individually or in a group is excessive but necessary. Everyone does not recover at the same pace nor do they require the same attention, but the one thing they do all need is love and support. She recognizes that they are not alone in what they are experiencing or have experienced and makes herself readily available to them. These victims need to know there are several ways of overcoming and seeking help, counseling and support as a victim. I am here to support DC Empowering Children, Inc. because it reaches silent victims who may be scared to talk about or report these incidents. This nonprofit empowers those impacted or loved ones of victims to speak out and make the difference in their loved ones life or friends life. Thanks

I have known Debbi Chambers' work in a variety of contexts: over 20 years ago she was a student of mine and a math tutor in a program I supervised at the University of Massachusetts. She also was the administrator for a 4-day conference I and colleagues organized on Challenging Eurocentrism in Mathematics Education. Her work was outstanding.

Ever since I have followed her activities with the Empowering Children conferences, seen her give a talk at a few of them, and, over the years, discussed her ideas underlying her work in this field. I continue to be impressed with Debbie's thoughtful, resourceful ideas and the nonprofit she has created.

I would recommend DC Empowering Children, Inc. to any one I care for. Dr. Chambers is an unique woman. Dr. Chambers does not treat you like a case file, but as a person. Someone can always say they care, but SHOWING that you actually do, speaks volumes. Dr. Chambers does just that, shows that SHE cares.
I applaud Dr. Chambers for being UNSELFISH and for wanting to put others needs even before hers at times. She is the true definition of a Phenomenal Woman.

I have attended several of DC Empowering Children Conferences. For me they were very healing and allowed me let go of the grip that kept me frozen in time of the molestation as a child which gave my abuser power over me as an adult, as a mother, as a wife and as a woman. Through a lot work, I am an empowered woman. DC Empowering Children also empowers mothers, fathers, families too. We are not alone and don't "knowingly" let the past trauma direct your present life. Take your power back and help others in the process. That is what Dr. Chambers does.

I am a Connecticut resident. I met the organization's founder at a function in the Boston area nearly 10 years ago. After a brief discussion, I became fascinated with the work that she'd been doing in her community. Moreover, i was impressed by her passion. So much so, that I drove up a few months later to attend her annual conference. This was to be the first of many yearly visits. I would often donate my musical talents to the conferences via song. I saw firsthand the results of her support to the 'survivors" and their families. The conferences were informative and engaging. Each year the attendance impressively increased. This is evidence that this organization is making a difference in the lives of those in need. Kudos, Dr. Chambers! Best of Blessings, DC Empowering Children!

I have been to a few events sponsored by DC Empowering Children. They helped me to complete my childhood trauma of molestation. At each event more people are helped and healed. It is helping many people find their voice and to stop being silent and to speak up and out to help their children and grandchildren. The mission is strong and Dr. Chambers is a caring and compassionate spokesperson and fighter to combat and end sexual abuse of children. Shattering the silence and making your voice be heard is so important. Let stop it now so we don't have more generations of wounded adults dealing with the transgressions that happened to them when they were innocent and powerless. This is an uphill battle and it takes a dedicated leader to champion such a cause. Dr. Chambers is that leader. The incredibly powerful work of Dr. Debbie Chambers, in helping empower people to not only overcome their pain, but become stronger, must be recognized as ground breaking.
DCEMPOWERINGCHILDREN is the only way many people can truly heal, rather than taking 20 years in private therapy, to achieve either similar results, or , in my families case, move beyond that.
Her conferences are so moving, empathetic, but doesn't allow people to fall backwards into a victim mentality ever again. Debbie Chambers deserves to be recognized for her tireless work by creating DCEMPOWERINGCHILDREN , a non-profit organization. It is essentially a life saving safety net for people who have suffered through so much.
Dr. Chambers has a true vision, and needs support. As she helps others, I hope to help her by telling the world, DCEMPOWERINGCHILDREN should be awarded as a number one priority to the survivors of sexual abuse.
