Programs: Dos Pueblos: the New York-Tipitapa Sister City Project is a non-profit organization that partners with COMPALCIHT, a local Nicaraguan community-based organization, to work collaboratively on community development through projects of education, nutrition, agriculture, health promotion, people-to-people exchanges, environmental health, and human rights based on respect for diversity of perspectives and culture. Together, through ongoing personal and community relationships, we seek to educate each other, promote cooperation, understand globalization, facilitate cultural and educational exchanges, and assure a partnership for capacity building between the people of New York and the people of Tipitapa, Nicaragua.
