Mission: To expand and diversify the healthcare workforce by connecting immigrants to healthcare career pathways in the us and to work with educators and employers to qualify immigrants for healthcare careers. Our vision is to improve healthcare services for the local community.
Programs: Dhtis 3-prong strategic initiatives include building community wellness healthcare sector development, and policy advocacy/systems change. 1 qualifying immigrants, refugees, and incumbent workers for entry and advanced healthcare jobs 2 serving as a workforce intermediary to build the health professions pipeline and 3 pursuing policy advocacy to address systemic barriers and challenges such as integrating community health workers in healthcare teams. Dhtis healthcare career pathway program hcpp individualizes pathways along 4 states of the career continuum exploration, qualification, entry and success. In fy18, hcpp introduced healthcare careers to over 100 immigrants and refugees from over 40 countries, representing over 30 languages. Core services include career pathway exploration, planning, and navigation healthcare systems and workplace competency skills training work experience and job readiness preparation career coaching, mentoring, social supports and leadership development.
