Mission: To increase civic engagement and diverse leadership in the Chicago region by developing and building a network of leaders with disabilities — consistent with the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Results: We recently welcomed 16 Fellows into our Institute Class of 2021. Last year our Network grew to 149 Members who made 285 civic advancements.
Target demographics: leaders with disabilities lead with power and influence for full participation and equal opportunity.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 19 Fellows of the Institute and 149 Members of Network.
Geographic areas served: 7-county Chicago region.
Programs: Institute - year-long leadership development program for emerging leaders with disabilities. Network - provides mentoring, support, and ongoing civic engagement opportunities for leaders with disabilities. Connections - increases the number of people with disabilities in professional and civic leadership positions.
