Causes: Health, Specifically Named Diseases
Mission: To aid, assist and educate individuals by offering a variety of programs and resources to help reduce the incidents of diabetes and improve the quality of life for people with diabetes.
Programs: Resident camp - medical and educational residential camp for children ages 8 through 17. This camp served approximately 150 youth with diabetes for 8 days to promote education and facilitate learning self-care management strategies in a fun and safe environment.
community outreach/type 1 conference-provides information about resources and programs available to improve the quality of life for adults and children with diabetes.
camp nohilo - day camp for children to promote an active and healthy lifestyle for children and adolescents ages 4 to 10 with diabetes fostering self-esteem, responsibility, and independence in diabetes care. This experience gives participants the opportunity to learn how to manage their diabetes.
