Mission: Dwej is organized to empower individuals, communities, and community organizations in southeast michigan to educate, advocate and organize for cleaner, healthier communities and environments.
Programs: Workforce: developing world class workforce initiatives that focus on value added training to support detroit residents in accessing good jobs, setting them up for advancement to better jobs and pursuing living wage careers that provide economic mobility.
policy: expanding our influence as a leader of policy shifts at the local, state and federal levels. Our policy efforts strengthen the voice of environmental justice communities for taking control over what happens in their neighborhoods.
education: developing world class education initiatives that awaken the collective power of detroiters for transforming their communities. Helping detroiters recognize the connections between the environment and their quality of life. Organizing residents to take action for clean, healthy, safe neighborhoods while actualizing individual and collective solutions for environmental justice and sustainable redevelopment.
