Causes: Philanthropy, Private Grantmaking Foundations
Mission: In partnership with denver public schools, we raise and manage funds, make strategic program investments, and serve as community leaders so that all students have the opportunity to succeed.
Programs: Dps foundation grants supported dps' relentless pursuit of student achievement and impacted several key areas of focus including: school innovation, leadership development, preparing students for college and career, literacy programs, grants to classrooms and schools, science, technology, engineering and math (stem) education, health and wellness and afterschool programs. Dps foundation grants directly serve dps' more than 92,000 students, approximately 200 schools, as well as educators and school leaders. See continuation on schedule o. Dps foundation partnered with foundations, corporations, parents, educators, alumni and other members of the community to support programs and schools district-wide. Supported by our ever-increasing donor base, dps foundation granted approximately $8 million to dps for priority programs and critical needs in 2016-17. Thanks to our donors' generosity, dps is making strides for our students. Dps students are achieving among the highest academic growth in colorado and the second-highest academic growth among the 300 largest school districts in the nation. A testament to the community's confidence in the direction and leadership of our public school system, dps is also among the fastest growing urban school districts in america. Gifts to dps foundation have tangible and lasting impact on our students; both in and outside of the classroom. When our students thrive, our communities thrive.
