cota campjazz is a week long jazz camp in july each year for teenage students. It is all about small group improvisation - you start your day with a little creative listening and discussion, then learn (in multiple levels based on experience) repertory-specific theory and ear training - experiment with composition- attend lunch-time concerts and master classes on the anatomy of the jam session, early jazz, sessions with nea jass master phil woods: discuss higher education with cota graduates - take a field trip to east stroudsburg university and visit the extensive al cohn memorial collection, a wealth of musical resources. Record at red rock saturday and perform sunday after the family bbq. Experience evening permormances of the best in jazz right where it lives - the deer head inn in historic delaware water gap, pa.
