Mission: Davey's voice is a non profit established in honor of puppy davey, an example of human cruelty wherein this puppy was brutally tortured to death. It is the mission of davey's voice to establish positive change. We aim to:-create awareness regarding animal abuse. -support projects & programs that promote animal welfare. -educate and empower the public to advocate for voiceless, victimized animals. -bring animal abusers to justice by supporting harsher laws and stronger legislation against animal abusers. Core initiatives: education, justice, law enforcement training, animal abuse registry.
Programs: Produce and distribute a davey "beanie baby" to teach children about animal abuse and what to do if they see an animal being mistreated. Education: paws up for pets. Supporting the "paws up for pets" with care4paws, educational program promoting compassion for pets oriented to youths within santa barbara county. Paws up for pets works county wide with the united boys and girls clubs on animal welfare education campaign. Justice: attend county of santa barbara superior court legal proceedings regarding animal abuse. Witnesses of animal abuse were empowered to testify with our support. Collaboration with animal legal defense fund and the district attorney's office. Law enforcement training in process; collaboration with the national law enforcement center on animal abuse, humane society of the united states, and the santa barbara sheriff's dept. Programs: film festival: prepare for second annual film festival in santa barbara. Due to the thomas fire and subsequent debris mudslide the animal film festival was postphoned indefinitely. Provided support to shadow's fund to help purchase a transport van to move unadoptable animals to oregon, washington and montana, where these dogs have a better chance at being adopted. Animal abuse registry is in progress. Grant applications are in progress.
