Mission: Crossover Mission helps the kids who need us most to become successful adults through a program of year-round basketball training and one-to-one academic mentoring. In that pursuit, the secondary purpose of Crossover Mission, Inc. is to build a bridge of friendship and understanding between cultures, starting at a young age, which will help to erode the walls of separation, which continue to divide our society.
Results: When Crossover began in 2014, 50% of our kids were failing one or more classes and had below a 2.0 GPA. In the 2019-20 school year, 96% of our kids had a year-end grade point average over 2.0 and 89% had a B or higher grade point average, despite the challenges of distance learning. Crossover works by going as deep as needed to serve those kids who need us the most. - In the 2019-20 school year, 95% of Crossover student-athletes in middle and high school were academically eligible to participate in school sports. Thirty of our students (~90% of those who tried out) made it onto their school teams.
