Mission: The work study program and jesuit cristo rey high school of houston (dba cristo rey jesuit college preparatory school) operate together as a coordinated program which inspires and prepares students of limited economic resources to succeed in college and lead their communities as compassionate, committed, and competent men and women for others for the greater glory of god.
Programs: The work study program (wsp) provides students of the jesuit cristo rey high school of houston (dba cristo rey jesuit college preparatory school) valuable employment training and on-the-job experience in addition to enabling the students to defray part of the cost of their education. The wsp and the school operate together as a coordinated program which combines personal responsibility, academic rigor, and a corporate work-study program to empower students of all faiths from economically challenged families to reach their full potential. All students of the school are required to participate in the work-study program. The wsp trains the students during a summer training initiative where they teach the students hard and soft workplace skills. The wsp is in constant contact with sponsors to ensure the success of the students. During fye 06/30/17, the wsp had approximately 140 paying sponsors.
