Mission: Creid Samhlaigh, Corp. is a non-profit that recently formed for the sole purpose of creating a multigenerational facility in Hagerstown. I am pleased to present this concept to you and look forward to partnering with you to provide the 125 current students and potential 125 elderly adults a life changing experience. Research has proven the coupling of young children with elderly adults improves the lives of both parties. The concept has been supported by a number of university initiatives over the last few years. Our mission to provide coordinated education, research and service opportunities while enhancing and supporting growth throughout the lifespan, will help build a society that truly values people of all ages. Imagine structured classes, with students aged from pre-school to retirement, participating in painting, self-defence, reading, playing a musical instrument, quilting, cooking, singing, sewing, yoga, writing poetry, gardening or using an iPad together. Think of the same group sitting in rocking chairs learning to snap peas alongside each other on a porch. Many of the familial bonding pastimes we remember from our childhood, that our children missed out on because their grandparents had to work, will be fostered through the activities at our center.
