Its educational efforts will initially be focused on grantmaking to organizations that support, or are part of, public education in colorado, including grants to fund scholarship programs for higher education, and support of existing and emerging programs in public school districts not funded by the districts, as well as on improving financial literacy, through financial support of public programs and nonprofit initiatives to reduce financial illiteracy. The foundation's human service efforts will initally be focused on organizations that provide assistance progams that meet basic health, welfare and other needs of the poor, sick or elderly in communities in colorado, including grants to public sector employee assistance program emergency funds.
