Causes: Children & Youth, Children & Youth Services, Civil Rights, Crime & Law
Mission: Provide advocacy for abused and neglected foster children. Recruit, train and support volunteers to serve as court appointed special advocates.
Programs: A. Trained 16 new volunteer court appointed special advocates (casa's). B. Provided a casa to 173 children (a 43% increase from fy16)c. Outcomes for children served: 22 children were adopted 19 children were reunified with their families 46 children's abuse and neglect cases were resolved 5 children aged out of foster cared. Piloted a new specialty program: casitas court appointed special infant toddler advocates - 12 casa's received specialized training to support this vulnerable age group in foster caree. Provided 69 hours of training to our volunteer advocates
