Mission: The Cooperating Hampton Roads Organization for Minorities in Engineering (CHROME), founded in September 1983, is a partnership of business/industry, government agencies, institutions of higher education, public school systems, and civic and professional associations. CHROME's mission is to promote student access to, and achievements in science, mathematics, engineering, and related technical fields to meet future global requirements through CHROME clubs led by guidance counselors and science and/or mathematics teachers. One of the ways we provide this support is through training activities, programs, and resources designed for teachers, counselors, and parents to encourage these students to pursue careers in science, mathematics, engineering, and related technical fields.
