the ride of silence is a slow group ride in total silence. The purpose of the ride to silence is a show of response to the aggressive, intimidating and related behaviors that cyclists face when riding each days. The ride of silence remembers those killed by motorists, raises awareness that the community has a large cycling population and that cyclists are going to continue to use the community roadways on a regular basis.
the inaugural ohio women's bicycling summit brought 70 women from ohio and indiana together to find ways to get more woment into cycling. The event was the first of its kind in the nation and was recognized by the league of american bicyclists.
