Mission: The organization's mission on most significant activities: to provide opportunities for students to learn about their environment, in all disciplines, through direct field study experience; to provide the structure for developing intensive field study programs with competent leadership; and to cooperate with the schools, colleges, and universities so that students may receive academic credit for field study.
Programs: Ifs promotes science education and research at our forfar field stattion located on andros island in the bahamas. Ifs runs year-round programs for high school and college students to experience hands-on, outdoor, environmental education, as well as, helping to facilitate research by trained scientists. Activities include diving, snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, cultural experiences, evening science lectures, and daily educational field trips on land and by sea.
