Mission: Connecting caring communities exists to build meaningful relationships that foster safe, caring, whole communities.
Programs: Abilene neighborhood initiative - the abilene neighborhood initiative (ani) is an ongoing partnership between ccc, the city of abilene, the abilene police department and local churches working in five designated neighborhoods: alameda addition, holiday hills, stevenson, carver, and butternut/chestnut. Ani partners work with residents in these areas to discuss their strengths and challenges, and empower neighbors to work together on their common goals.
friendship house - north park. Friendship houses are homes located in vulnerable neighborhoods where a connecting caring communities (ccc) staff member lives with his/her family. Their role is to connect neighbors with each other and with community and neighborhood resources to work toward solutions to the toughest neighborhood challenges and serve as a platform of trust between neighborhoods and other entities within the city.
