Causes: Arts & Culture, Arts Education, Opera
Mission: The mission of Connecticut Opera is to produce quality opera featuring well-known and emerging artists, stage directors and conductors, to offer opera education and outreach programs that engage diverse communities, and to introduce and encourage further appreciation of opera, while exercising fiscal responsibility.
Programs: Connecticut Opera's mission is fulfilled primarily through two activities: 1) the production of three to four operas staged at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, and 2) through Opera Express, a touring ensemble of young resident artists which presents over 150 performances a year to as many as 25,000 children and adults at schools, senior centers, parks, and special events throughout the region.
